Report Card:
"+" (Plus):
History was made, where the FIRST A+B LiveWebCast was delivered for an Offroad Race: this is clearly the future for Offroad Racing. An opportunity exists for bringing the "niche-sport" out of Obscurity, & possibly into a Mass-Market. This will attract Sponsors galore, & fuel future Development of the Sport. Technology to the Rescue!
"-" (Minus):
Unfortunately, IRC/Iritrack did not acknowledge the contribution of Textamerica.com (mobile-blogging service) & Jumplive.com (content delivery of LIVE pics/videos to Textamerica.com moblogs), for the "Parker 425 A+B test"!
In addition, Dirtnewz.com & Race-Dezert.com used material from the "B. Entertainment" (via Jumplive.com & Textamerica.com), as part of their own coverage of the Parker 425!? This is copyright infringement.
- DirtNewz.com infringement
DirtNewz.com saw the Robby Gordon "splash'n go" fuel-stop at Jumplive.com LiveWebCast here, & reported it as his own here:
"Gordon's Hummer H3 has a large fuel cell, which allowed him to only have to stop once for fuel and splash a few gallons in order to make it to the finish line"
He had previously reported "no fuel or tire stops" for Robby Gordon at his finish-line interview here:
"He talks about it in our finish line interview. He said he shipped the car home, washed it and brought it to Parker. No fuel or tire stops.
http://www.dirtnewz.com/events-06/pa...425-main.shtml"
An alert reader on Race-Dezert.com caught him on this:
"Robby running with no fuel stops? NOT.
I found a ton of pics and videos
Go to page 3 video RG gets some gas....LOL

2 violations of Journalist Ethics by DirtNewz.com: he got the story wrong (Get your facts straight, get confirmation if necessary), & he stole someone elses material (copyright infringement). In fact, he used the same terminology from Jumplive.com's coverage "splash".
- Race-Dezert.com
Images & information from Jumplive.com LiveWebCast was used on RDC's forum, without acknowledgement of source:

[ images were taken from Jumplive.com's coverage of Awards, see here ]
Also, this RDC post contains information from my interview w/Andy McMillin:
"Andy said he had transmission problems, only driving in 3rd gear so they parked it on the trailer. Earlier they had hub problems that cost them 1 1/2 hours to replace."
-- RacingOne
All was necessary was to give CREDIT to the source (in this case Jumplive.com LiveWebCast over Textamerica.com "moblog"), i.e. Fair Use Doctrine.
Funny thing. RDC has CENSORED *any* mention of Jumplive.com LiveWebCast ("I've been blackballed"), i.e. the terms "jumplive.com" & "textamerica.com" get replaced with "****" in RDC posts. As a matter of fact, sometimes ENTIRE THREADS are deleted!! Even "McKenzies.com" gets replaced by "*****"..they've been blackballed!!??
This is working against the interests of Offroad Racing, which prevents the Offroad Racing public from knowing about the new revolution in LiveWebCasting (which can revolutionize the niche-sport "Our little wonder in the Desert"/Ryan Arciero). This does not reflect the "community spirit" & brotherhood of Offroaders:
"Help the people, who help you"
-- saying in Offroad Racing
[ that guy you helped, may help you in a future race ]
I guess "competition" has been replaced by "selfishness/greed".
In the end (via the "A+B LiveWebCast test" for Parker 425), the attempts at RDC censorship failed. The RDC post by Tim Pruett (Class 4 racer) summarizes the situation best:
Just a note from one of the old guys, racing the desert has always been a way of life for those that
participate. Competition is for the track not on a computer. The sport of desert racing has fallen on hard
times because of the way some people treat each other. The sport started small and grew into a very unique
sport with a large following, then some people got greedy and decided that they didnt need the sponsors and
their money to stay in business. Now the sport is trying to make a comeback. If you want it to survive ,
support it no matter which series you decide to participate with.Good competition is good for any sport.Dont
bash the guy thats got the money try to learn from him, let him do the r&d and spend the cash. When i raced
I either builtit myself or figured out a way to steal it. Thats called budget racing. If anyone wants i'm
putting a Team together for the Baja, just e-mail. best wishes to all timmy lee pruett
